What is Wing Chun Kung Fu?
Wing Chun Kung Fu is a very effective self defence system, that has been practised over 400 years. The core principle of the system is to use the attackers strength and energy back against themselves, therefore suitable for any size, strength or age, to be able to practise these skill. The IWKA logo above explains the overall technique itself. It consist of a triangle, a straight line with spaces and a circle. Below is a brief description of what each symbol stands for,

- The triangle:
The triangle shape stands for the triangle from outside to inside and from inside to outside.
- The spaced straight line:
The straight line stands for the straight line concept ( shortest distance between two points) and the centreline concept. The space between the lines stands for the detachment which is the direct connection to the Chan Buddhism, Wing Chun's origin is in the Southern Shaolin Temple. The three parts stand for heaven ( time ), Earth ( space ), human ( energy ). The first battle of the Saam Chien is about mastering body, mind and energy.
- The circle:
The circular shape stands for the structure of the body and its parts, for the structure of all movements. Further it stands for the stance turning, the wheel bearing body concept and the power transfer through spiral and circular motions.
